New options for donor eggs
This blog is not about moving to egg donation – this blog is about trying to conceive with your own eggs. However, I thought my readers might be interested in a monumental advancement in the way egg donors can be selected and utilized. This article discusses the formation of a new organization called The World Egg Bank which will scale up the current capabilities of Cryo Eggs International (the world’s first frozen donor egg bank) and X and Y Consulting (a large egg donor registry).
With the advent of the technology to freeze eggs (rather than fertilized eggs – aka embryos), this will make the process of selecting a donor and utilizing the donated eggs so much easier since the eggs are already “on ice” awaiting utilization. It will make using donor eggs nearly as “easy” as using donor sperm.
